Prout’s canvas sailing boat

Back in January this Prout’s folding canvas sailing boat was advertised on Ebay by Ross Jennings. She is now back where she started on Canvey Island an addition to the museum being donated by Marian Patten.

Looks impressive but will it float!

Photos below from the Ebay advert courtesy of Canvey Community Archive where you can read all about Prouts.

Prouts advert for their folding dinghies.

Some got as far as Africa.

    Hi
I recently commented on this page, saying I also have a prout folding dinghy.

I realise this is a long shot as you already have one.

But, I wonder if you would be interested in another one to add to the museum?

This would be free of charge but would require collecting from Hillingdon Middlesex. (Heathrow area of West London)

    Kind regards

      Hi Robert,

Thank you for your support and thanks for the offer, but as we are a very small museum, we do not have the space for a second one.

      Thanks and Regards
      Alan
