Open Day

We have the pleasure of having the Canvey Island band “The Long Run” playing for us during the day.

The Long Run hails from Canvey Island, Essex, in the South East of England. The group itself consists of long term friends Darren Jones, John Cordon, Ryan Love and Gavin Jones, who have been playing and performing music together since their school days.

The band formed in 2005, with Darren as the lead singer, guitarist, saxophone & harp player, John as the lead guitarist and backing vocalist, Darren’s brother Gavin on bass guitar and Ryan Love on the drums.

The Long Run have written and recorded their own studios albums releasing a new album every couple of years. The band have continued to perform all over the U.K. at countless venues and festivals playing there mix of hard rock & roll & rythym & blues

On Sunday 7th June saw the local band Long Run playing to a great turn out of fans and visitors. The band members are all local to Canvey and have had an association with the museum since they visited as youngsters. The museum members and committee really appreciate their support in offering to do this fundraiser because we do rely heavily on visitor donations. Everyone had a great time listening to all sorts of music genres played by the very accomplished band. The museum is already looking forward to seeing them again next year.
